Job Description

Summary

Anatomic Pathology Specialist needed to prepare and process surgical specimens and slides, supporting a clinical laboratory environment.

The Anatomic Pathology Specialist performs essential tasks within a clinical laboratory, focusing on the preparation and analysis of anatomical specimens.

  • *Responsibilities:**
  • Work within a clinical laboratory environment.
  • Assist in developing and revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ink gross surgical specimens for clear identification.
  • Dissect and submit representative sections of specimens.
  • Prepare slides by processing tissue blocks, embedding tissue, cutting, staining, and coverslipping.
  • *Qualifications:**
  • **Education:**
* Bachelor's or graduate degree in a medical, health, or allied science field. * or Master's or equivalent graduate degree in Pathology, Biology, Anatomy, Chemistry, or a related science field.
  • **Experience:**
* One year of specialized experience in a clinical laboratory environment, including SOP development, gross specimen handling (inking, dissecting), and tissue preparation (processing, embedding, cutting, staining, coverslipping). * or a combination of qualifying education and experience.
  • **Preferred:** ASCP Certification.
