Seeking an Anatomic Pathology Specialist to perform gross analysis, dissection, and accessioning of human tissue specimens and autopsies.
## Anatomic Pathology Specialist (Pathologist's Assistant)
Join our team as an Anatomic Pathology Specialist, where you will perform essential gross examination and analysis of human tissue specimens. This role is vital for histological processing and requires significant experience in an anatomical pathology laboratory.
### Responsibilities:
- Serve as a Pathologist's Assistant in an Anatomical Pathology laboratory.
- Accession, dissect, and meticulously describe gross anatomic features of human tissue surgical specimens for histological processing.
- Perform autopsies as required.
- Conduct thorough gross analysis of various anatomic pathology specimens, including biopsies, small resections, and complex cancer cases.
- Facilitate training and didactic instruction regarding gross analysis or anatomic pathology specimens.
- **Education:** Bachelor's or graduate degree in a medical, health sciences, or allied sciences field from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- **Experience:** One year of specialized experience serving as a Pathologist's Assistant. This experience must include duties such as accessioning, dissection, gross description of surgical specimens, gross analysis of specimens, and/or performing autopsies.
- **Note:** Education cannot be substituted for the required specialized experience for this position.
- **Eligibility:** Must be a US Citizen.
- Successful completion of an accredited Pathologist's Assistant program with national certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent.
