Air Traffic Control Specialist (Terminal)

Join our team as an Air Traffic Controller, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient flow of air traffic. This critical role involves managing aircraft movement in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

• *Key Responsibilities:**
• Provide Limited Radar Approach Control Terminal services.
• Sequence and separate aircraft during simultaneous arrivals and departures.
• Direct aircraft movement on runways and taxiways.
• Deliver air traffic control assistance in accordance with Federal Administration Order 7110.65.
• Issue instructions and advisories for orderly Visual Flight Rule (VFR) and Instrument Flight Rule (IFR) traffic.
• *Required Qualifications:**
• **Experience:** At least one year of specialized Air Traffic Control experience, including radar approach control, sequencing, separation, and aircraft movement direction.
• **Education/Certifications:**

* Graduate of a DoD component or FAA-approved formal Air Traffic Controller school. * Possess Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS), Control Tower Operator (CTO), and/or Aviation Oversight (AOV) certification.

• **Competencies:** Demonstrated proficiency in Oral Communication, Technical Competence, and Technical Credibility.
• **Federal Service (if applicable):** Current federal employees must have 52 weeks of service at the GS-09 level or equivalent.
• **Age Requirement:**

* New hires for this special retirement covered position must generally be appointed by the last day of the month they turn 36. * Exceptions may apply for preference-eligible veterans over 36, or individuals previously serving in DoD ATC roles who can complete 20 years of covered service by age 56. * Mandatory separation at age 56 with 20 years of approved special retirement service. Proof of age and previous covered service (if applicable) required.
