Job Description
Summary
Experienced Structural Engineer needed to analyze aircraft designs, ensure structural integrity, and provide expert recommendations.
We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to ensure the structural integrity and airworthiness of aircraft and their components. This role requires at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or DP-03 pay band in the Federal service, or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
- *Responsibilities include:**
- Reviewing and analyzing engineering reports to ensure proposed designs meet structural engineering requirements for aircraft design, analysis, test, and operation.
- Identifying structural deficiencies in design and analysis reports and recommending corrective actions.
- Pinpointing structural integrity problems during aircraft development or modification and proposing optimal solutions.
- Assessing operational risks related to airframe and dynamic component structural strength and fatigue issues, then recommending mitigation strategies.
- Evaluating airframe and dynamic component laboratory qualification programs, including recommendations for test requirements, plan evaluations, and test result reviews.
- Suggesting appropriate fatigue life limits for dynamic components, considering unique mission profiles and operating environments.
