Job Title: Advancement and Marketing Writer Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid: 3-4 days/week on campus) Salary: $73,000 - $77,000 annually Job Type: Full-time

WAMU 88.5, American University's public media station, seeks an Advancement and Marketing Writer to join its Marketing and Brand Engagement team. This role is vital for developing persuasive written communications that support fundraising, marketing, and outreach, while consistently maintaining the WAMU brand voice across various channels.

Key Responsibilities:

• **Marketing Content:** Create engaging copy for marketing collateral, news stories, video scripts, event messaging, web, and social media.
• **Fundraising Communications:** Develop compelling solicitations, appeals, stewardship materials, and newsletters to support fundraising initiatives.
• **Executive Support:** Draft high-level communications, speeches, presentations, and briefing books for WAMU leadership.
• **Annual Report:** Collaborate with various teams to draft and strategically deliver the annual impact report.
• **Internal Communications:** Ensure consistent internal messaging and manage information sharing displays.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of relevant writing experience.
• Demonstrated versatility and persuasiveness in writing, with exceptional grammar and proofreading skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively across teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent customer service, professionalism, tact, and discretion with sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing, Communication, or Public Affairs.
• Experience writing for non-profit organizations.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
