Summary
Seeking a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to deliver and lead evidence-based care within an interdisciplinary team.
Join our team as an Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner) specializing in Psychiatric-Mental Health. You will deliver evidence-based care, manage patient panels, and contribute to improving healthcare delivery.
- *Core Responsibilities:**
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric-mental health care to individuals and populations.
- Manage patient panels or programs, demonstrating proficiency in clinical practice.
- Evaluate patient care delivery systems and contribute to improvements using research and evidence-based practice.
- Collaborate effectively as a team member or lead interdisciplinary initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
- Engage in continuous professional development, acquiring and disseminating specialized knowledge.
- Maintain high professional standards, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- *Education:**
- Master's or doctoral degree as a Nurse Practitioner from a school of professional nursing accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
- Foreign educated candidates require validated degree equivalency.
- *Licensure:**
- Active, current, full, and unrestricted Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) license to practice as an NP in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
- *Certification:**
- Full and current basic board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from ANCC, AANPCB, or another nationally recognized certifying body.
- *Experience Requirements by Level:**
- **APN Level II:** Entry-level position; no experience required beyond basic education.
- **APN Level III:** Requires a minimum of one year of specialized APN (NP) experience equivalent to the Nurse II grade level.
- *Preferred Experience:**
- Two or more years of VA mental health clinical experience.
- At least one year of virtual care or telehealth experience, including familiarity with telehealth platforms.
- Experience working in an inter-professional clinical team.
- Crisis response, suicide screening, and assessment activities.
- Experience with measurement-based care.
- DEA registration and ability to prescribe controlled substances.
- *Note for Candidates Pending Licensure/Certification:** Individuals meeting basic education requirements but pending necessary licensure and/or certification may be considered for a temporary Graduate Nurse Technician (Nurse Practitioner) appointment, not to exceed one year and a day.
- *Physical Requirements:**
- Ability to satisfactorily perform the duties of the assignment, including mental and physical aptitude; may require specific health screenings.
