Summary

Seeking an experienced GS-14 Accountant to provide expert financial analysis, auditing, and policy implementation for federal operations.

Job Title: Accountant (GS-14)

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Accountant (GS-14) to manage complex financial operations within the federal service. This role requires a deep understanding of federal accounting principles and a proactive approach to financial oversight.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Interpret and apply complex accounting laws, concepts, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform advanced loan accounting analysis, reconciliation, and surveillance (Credit Reform).
  • Lead external audits of accounting and financial reports, implementing necessary corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive accounting guidance and financial system procedures.
  • *Required Qualifications:**
Applicants must meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 0510 series and possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level.

  • *Specialized Experience (GS-13 equivalent) includes:**
  • Expertise in accounting law interpretation and policy application.
  • Loan accounting analysis, reconciliation, and surveillance (Credit Reform).
  • Conducting financial audits and implementing corrective measures.
  • Developing accounting guidance and financial system procedures.
  • *Education Requirements (0510 Series):**
  • *A. Degree:**
  • Bachelor's in Accounting; or
  • Bachelor's in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Finance) with 24 semester hours in accounting (up to 6 hours of business law allowed).

    Combination of Education and Experience:**

  • At least 4 years of professional accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, college-level education, and training demonstrating professional accounting knowledge.
  • and, one of the following:
* 24 semester hours in accounting or auditing coursework (up to 6 hours of business law allowed). * Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification. * Completion of a degree with substantial accounting coursework (e.g., 15 semester hours), combined with demonstrated full-performance level accounting work and an assessment by professional accountants confirming equivalent knowledge.
