Manage Montgomery Parks' website, ensuring accessibility, SEO, content quality, and digital marketing integration.

Montgomery Parks is seeking a highly organized **Website Manager** to oversee, optimize, and maintain the department's digital presence.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Manage all aspects of the department's website, ensuring publishing standards and optimal performance.
  • Implement and enforce digital accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) across all web content and third-party plugins.
  • Develop and execute SEO strategies to enhance web traffic, engagement, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Monitor and analyze website performance using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics), and report on KPIs, SEO metrics, and accessibility compliance.
  • Support digital marketing initiatives, including email campaigns and integration of relevant tools.
  • Manage and update website guidelines, ensuring quality control for content, graphics, video, and social media.
  • Navigate and manage content within WordPress (copy, images, video, tagging, SEO metadata).
  • Coordinate tasks with internal teams and external vendors for website enhancements, security, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Proactively monitor and address web security vulnerabilities, including DNS record management (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
  • *Required Qualifications:**
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Political Science, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Four (4) years of experience in journalism, marketing, or public affairs; or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling eight (8) years.
  • May require a valid, unencumbered driver's license.
  • *Preferred Qualifications:**
  • Minimum two years of high-level web development experience.
  • Certification in web accessibility (e.g., was, CPACC, CPWA, Trusted Tester).
  • Bilingual/multilingual abilities.
  • *Important Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:**
  • **Knowledge:** In-depth understanding of WCAG 2.1 AA, SEO best practices, web development principles (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WordPress), UX design, content strategy, information architecture, and digital brand guidelines.
  • **Skills:** Proficiency in content management, SEO implementation, vendor assessment, training development, and graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
  • **Abilities:** Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, excellent verbal and written communication, creative problem-solving, and collaborative work ethic (especially with diverse teams).
  • *Working Conditions:** Primarily office-based with hybrid telework available after six months. Requires driving and occasional work outside normal business hours.
