## Website Content and Digital Media Officer

**The Opportunity:** AAU seeks a Website Content and Digital Media Officer to manage and enhance its digital presence. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Digital Media, this role is crucial for advancing the organization's advocacy efforts and objectives through compelling online content and an engaging user experience.
### Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, develop, and manage AAU's website and related digital content.
* Create and curate high-quality, audience-focused content supporting advocacy priorities (e.g., federal research funding, innovation, immigration policy).
* Collaborate with internal teams to highlight key initiatives, policy updates, and member accomplishments through digital storytelling.
* Manage website structure, navigation, and visual presentation to optimize usability, accessibility, and search performance.
* Develop and execute web components for integrated digital campaigns.
* Monitor website analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) to inform digital strategy and improvements.
* Ensure all digital content reflects AAU's brand, tone, and strategic messaging.
* Provide training and support to staff on website best practices.
* Coordinate with technology vendors and developers on website enhancements.
* Lead digital projects from concept through execution.
### Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree, preferably in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
* 3+ years of relevant experience in website management, including design, development, and content management, preferably in an agency, non-profit, or higher education setting.
* Proficiency with website content management systems (e.g., Drupal, Craft).
* Working knowledge of SEO techniques and tools (e.g., SEMRush, ahrefs).
* Proficiency in analytics platforms (e.g., GA4, Google Search Console).
* Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
* Familiarity with integrating digital strategy across social media channels.
* Proven ability to plan, develop, and manage digital content aligned with advocacy objectives.
* Strong project management skills: ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
* Excellent collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
* A self-starter with a team-oriented approach, strong interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
* Working knowledge of Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive).
### Preferred Qualifications:
* Familiarity with higher education policy or the federal legislative process.
* Experience using email functionality within Salesforce or similar platforms.
* Knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) for web use.
### Location & Eligibility:
* This is a hybrid position based in AAU's Washington, D.C. office.
* Requires being in the office at least 3 days per week after 90 days of employment.

### Compensation & Benefits:
* **Salary:** $75,000 – $80,000 annually (commensurate with experience).
