Summary

Lead federal strategic communications, developing compelling content and managing projects for a high-visibility public education client.

Chevo is seeking a Strategic Communications Manager to support a high-visibility federal client focused on school safety and public education initiatives. This role requires an expert communicator and project manager to lead a small, multidisciplinary communications team and serve as the primary point of coordination with the federal client.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • **Content Development:** Write, edit, and produce clear, compelling content for diverse platforms (fact sheets, emails, web copy, media releases); translate complex government information for various audiences.
  • **Project Management:** Lead workflow, task delegation, and review processes for the communications team; manage content calendars and client review cycles.
  • **Strategic Messaging:** Brainstorm and execute strategic communications campaigns; develop narrative frameworks aligned with program goals.
  • **Subject Matter Expertise:** Develop a deep understanding of the client’s mission, policies, and strategic priorities.
  • *Required Qualifications:**
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5–10 years of professional experience in a communications, public affairs, or strategic messaging role.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and audience-tailoring skills.
  • Demonstrated experience developing content for digital platforms (websites, email).
  • Ability to synthesize and communicate complex information clearly and succinctly.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with frequent client interaction.
  • *Desired Qualifications:**
  • Experience supporting federal clients or public-sector communications campaigns.
  • Familiarity with school safety, public health, emergency management, or education policy.
  • *Salary & Benefits:**
  • Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000, eligible for performance-based bonus.
