Join Amideast, a leading American non-profit promoting education and exchange in the Middle East and North Africa. We are seeking an experienced and innovative Director of Strategic Communications to lead our integrated communications efforts, enhancing our global presence and supporting organizational growth.

  • *About the Role:**
Reporting to the VP of Development and External Engagement, you will be a key member of a core team integrating strategic communications, fundraising, and business development. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker capable of both planning and hands-on implementation to maximize results and support revenue-generating and partnership-building initiatives.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • **Strategic Leadership:** Develop and implement a unified strategic communications plan aligning with Amideast’s mission, revenue goals, and partnership objectives. Guide organizational messaging to ensure consistency and impact.
  • **Brand Management:** Oversee Amideast’s brand strategy, ensuring consistent messaging across all global offices. Develop and execute strategies to promote products, services, and brand recognition.
  • **Marketing & Outreach:** Lead web and social media campaigns, create engaging marketing materials, and leverage technology to optimize outreach. Analyze performance data to drive informed decisions.
  • **Collaboration:** Foster strong internal relationships, ensuring seamless collaboration across business development, fundraising, and country offices for integrated external communications.
  • **Representation:** Represent Amideast at key events and conferences.
  • **Fiscal Oversight:** Manage a modest budget and ensure judicious use of resources.
  • *Qualifications:**
  • **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • **Experience:** Minimum of 5 years in a strategic communications leadership role within the non-profit sector. Experience with international non-profit organizations is essential.
  • **Proven Track Record:** Demonstrated success in leading web and social media campaigns, managing press/media relations, and utilizing data for marketing optimization.
  • **Skills:** Exceptional written and verbal communication, strong interpersonal skills, practical experience with data-driven analysis, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • **Attributes:** Innovative, entrepreneurial, strong problem-solving abilities, and an understanding of international cultures.
  • **Travel:** Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (Middle East and North Africa) up to 5%.
  • **Bonus:** Arabic language skills are a plus.
