## Communications Manager - Health Policy

### About ACAP The Association for Community Affiliated Plans (ACAP) represents 85 not-for-profit Safety Net Health Plans dedicated to improving health outcomes for over 30 million low-income and vulnerable individuals enrolled in public health programs like Medicaid, Medicare, and CHIP.

### About the Role ACAP seeks a talented and driven Communications Manager to lead and execute communication strategies supporting our advocacy for Medicaid, CHIP, Marketplace QHP, and Medicare. This role is crucial for translating complex health policy into accessible materials for a wide range of audiences, offering significant growth potential within a fast-paced environment. The position is based in Washington, D.C., operating on a hybrid work model with occasional travel (less than 10%).

### Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, oversee, and disseminate public-facing communications, including newsletters and media products.
  • Manage and analyze key communications metrics (web traffic, email campaigns, social media).
  • Maintain and update ACAP’s website, creating strategic content aligned with organizational goals.
  • Direct and implement ACAP’s online social media strategy.
  • Produce multimedia content, including the ACAP Coffee Break podcast and video products.
  • Design and distribute member-facing resources.
  • Provide communications and editorial support for senior executives and staff, including presentation development.
  • Manage the ACAP scholarship award program.
  • Respond to and address member inquiries.
### Qualifications

  • *Required:**
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrable interest in health care policy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong verbal, organizational, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, and apply creativity.
  • Facility with social media and email marketing platforms.
  • *Preferred:**
  • 4-6 years of relevant work experience, preferably in communications or journalism.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, or the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
  • Prior experience or internships within health policy organizations or associations.
  • Demonstrable multimedia production experience (e.g., podcast, video).
### Compensation & Benefits
  • **Salary Range:** $80,000 - $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
