Job Description

Summary

Seeking a Securities Attorney with J.D., bar membership, and 3+ years experience in securities law, especially the 1934 Act.

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • *Basic Requirements:**
  • **Education:** Possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree.
  • **Bar Membership:** Active membership in good standing with the bar of any U.S. state, territory, District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico. (Proof required upon entry on duty).
  • *Minimum Qualifications (SK-14):**

In addition to the basic requirements, candidates must have three (3) years of post-J.D. legal experience, which includes:

  • Identifying legal issues, providing analyses, developing solutions/recommendations, and preparing legal documents (e.g., filings, memoranda, contracts, pleadings, motions).
  • *Within these three (3) years, at least two (2) years must specifically involve:**
  • Interpreting, applying, and explaining laws, rules, and regulations governing the securities industry, with a particular focus on the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.
  • Collaborating on the evaluation of legal and policy issues related to securities law, analyzing and explaining legal principles/precedents, and developing/justifying recommendations concerning securities law.
