Supervisory Budget Analyst (GS-15)

The Office of Management's Office of Budget seeks a seasoned Supervisory Budget Analyst to manage complex federal budgets and lead a team. This executive-level role requires expertise in financial management within a large federal agency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, formulation, and administration of financial management policies and procedures.
  • Manage and oversee multi-billion dollar budget appropriations, including presentation material preparation.
  • Analyze and revise budget requests, providing expert recommendations.
  • Interpret complex legislation and policy guidance to assess budgetary impacts and advise program staff.
  • Skillfully coordinate diverse resource requests from high-level stakeholders.
  • Direct and mentor a team of Budget Analysts with varied portfolios.
  • Provide high-quality, detailed financial analysis to senior leadership.

Required Qualifications:

  • One year of specialized experience at the GS-14 level (or equivalent) in financial management.
  • Expert knowledge of federal and departmental budget processes, including Congressional and OMB policies.
  • Proven analytical reasoning skills for program and budgetary relationships, and multi-year planning.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex financial information and advice.
  • Demonstrated organizational awareness and planning/evaluation capabilities.
  • Experience managing and developing a team of budget professionals.
