Capital One is seeking a Senior Director, Content Design to lead a talented team within the US Card and Small & Mid-Market Business design organization. This role focuses on enhancing digital and physical customer experiences through human-centered design.
**Responsibilities:**
* Establish and maintain consistent content standards, best practices, and governance procedures.
* Drive and oversee a comprehensive content research framework.
* Lead, mentor, and build a thriving community of content designers.
* Define the strategic vision for content design in partnership with cross-functional teams.
* Leverage expertise in writing, storytelling, and UX design to create impactful digital content experiences.
* Influence product strategy and solve complex business problems through content design.
* Identify and advocate for high-leverage opportunities with executive stakeholders.
* Lead highly complex projects, setting standards for experience excellence and business outcomes.
* Present strategic work to executive leaders, integrating design frameworks, data, and research.
**Qualifications:**
* Minimum 10 years of experience in content, strategy, or user experience design writing.
* Minimum 3 years of experience leading design teams.
* Deep understanding of product, process, customer, and industry trends.
* Proven ability to partner with product managers, engineers, marketing, and analytics leaders.
* Skilled in shaping project scope and opportunities with executive stakeholders.
* Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* 10+ years experience working with and contributing to a design system.
* 5+ years experience leading design teams.
* Experience creating content standards and governance models for broad organizational scope.
* Experience building content testing protocols and frameworks.
* Proficiency with web and mobile technologies, design, and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma).
* Experience in business case development, connecting UX decisions to business value.
