## Principal Data Analyst, Marketing & Servicing Communications
**Location:** McLean, Virginia
As a Principal Data Analyst at Capital One, you will play a pivotal role in marketing and servicing communications, leveraging analytic and technical skills to ensure seamless customer integration post-acquisition. You will innovate, build, and maintain robust data solutions that drive data-driven decision-making.
### Key Responsibilities:
* **Innovation:** Mine complex, voluminous data using Open Source/Digital technologies; build self-service data solutions and capabilities; explore and quickly adopt new technologies for various initiatives.
* **Business Intelligence:** Partner with business stakeholders to translate needs into actionable insights; design and develop tools, metrics, and dashboards for data visualization and deeper analysis.
* **Data Management:** Drive adherence to data quality principles including metadata, lineage, and business definitions; collaborate with Tech teams to manage data security and access governance; build tools to monitor and report on data quality.
### Qualifications:
**Required:**
* Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science) with 5+ years of data analytics experience, OR Master’s Degree with 3+ years of data analytics experience.
* 3+ years of experience with at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, R, Spark, SQL).
* 3+ years of experience utilizing a business intelligence visualization tool.
* 3+ years of experience in querying, analyzing, and working with data languages and platforms.
**Preferred:**
* Master’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline.
* 4+ years of experience coding in Python, R, Spark, or SQL.
* 4+ years of experience working within process management and improvement methodologies (e.g., Agile, Lean, Six Sigma).
* 2+ years of experience utilizing and developing within AWS services.
* 2+ years of experience delivering Data Governance and Data Quality Management concepts and practices within the financial services industry.
**Compensation:**
Salary ranges from $127,500 - $145,500 in McLean, VA, and $115,900 - $132,200 in Richmond, VA, plus performance-based incentive compensation. Capital One offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package.
