Director, Software Engineering - Web Platforms

Capital One is seeking a passionate Director of Software Engineering to lead our Core Platforms Web team. This role involves shaping the vision and roadmap for critical web products, ensuring a best-in-class experience for millions of customers and an efficient developer experience. **Responsibilities:** * Lead, coach, and mentor multiple agile engineering teams. * Collaborate with Product partners to define technology strategy, roadmap, and vision. * Design, develop, test, implement, and support full-stack technical solutions. * Manage complex vendor relationships and integrate platforms. * Build trusted relationships with Architecture, Design, and Technology leaders. * Drive innovation, explore new technologies, and foster an inclusive, diverse team environment. **Basic Qualifications:** * Bachelor's Degree. * 7+ years of experience in software engineering or development. * 5+ years of experience in people management. * 5+ years of experience developing large-scale web applications in Angular. **Preferred Qualifications:** * Master's Degree. * 10+ years of experience in software engineering or development. * 5+ years of experience in Agile practices. * 5+ years of experience leading multiple teams and managers. * 5+ years of experience building web platforms or developer tooling and automation. * Experience with design systems, automated test tooling (Jest, Cypress), observability tools (New Relic), and web performance optimization. * Experience with MonoRepo web applications (Nx) and public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
