Summary
Lead strategic planning, operations, and personnel management for Supreme Court Police, ensuring security and efficiency.
The Assistant Chief of Police supports the Chief in overseeing all Supreme Court Police operations. This role focuses on strategic planning, security, personnel management, and financial oversight to ensure the effective protection of the Supreme Court building, grounds, Justices, employees, and the public.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Collaborate on long-range planning, development, and coordination of police operations and security procedures.
- Set department goals, priorities, and strategies, assigning tasks and tracking progress across all branches.
- Conduct inspections, evaluate performance, and recommend organizational improvements.
- Research and propose technological and staffing enhancements for the Police Force.
- Review personnel actions, including reassignments, shift changes, and police vacancies.
- Oversee budget execution and collaborate on financial management and budget formulation.
- Provide leadership, training, and guidance to subordinate police officials.
- Serve as a liaison with external local, state, and federal agencies.
- Make timely and effective decisions in emergency situations, devising solutions for exigent incidents.
- Assess initiatives, programs, and staffing decisions, utilizing data for program review. May conduct internal investigations.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- Extensive knowledge of general law enforcement procedures and directives.
- Advanced knowledge of personnel, police management, and leadership principles.
- Extensive experience in developing, writing, and implementing police operating policies and procedures.
- Proven leadership and management abilities with strong interpersonal skills, integrity, and tact.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Extensive experience in complex police operations, including investigations, disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, and budgeting.
- Demonstrated sound judgment in daily responsibilities.
