Job Description
Lead library collections, operations, and diverse teams with expertise in Latin American/European regions and strong administrative oversight.
We are seeking a highly experienced leader to manage critical library operations, collections, and diverse teams.
**Key Responsibilities & Competencies:**
* **Library & Information Management:** Lead comprehensive collection management, including development, acquisition, organization, digitization, and accessibility. Establish policies, enhance the research experience, assess outcomes, and develop public outreach strategies. Collaborate with subject specialists on performance goals.
* **Regional Expertise:** Possess professional knowledge of Latin American, Caribbean, and/or European countries, languages, and regions to identify trends and foster collaborative opportunities within the research community.
* **Leadership & Change Management:** Effectively lead tasks and people, inspire change, promote ideas with conviction, resolve contentious situations, gain support, motivate staff, and foster a culture of growth.
* **Workforce Leadership:** Supervise, develop, and lead a diverse workforce. Manage budget and personnel planning, establish performance expectations, provide formal and informal feedback, and promote equal employment opportunity and an inclusive workplace.
* **Program Oversight & Administrative Management:** Provide broad managerial, analytical, and advisory oversight for agency programs and operations. This includes overseeing human resources, finance, information technology, facilities management, strategic planning initiatives, and directing outreach.
* **Networking & Coalition Building:** Identify, build, and maintain professional relationships and networks with scholars, the publishing community, colleagues, and potential donors to support the institution's mission and collections. Represent the institution at professional association meetings.
* **Effective Communication:** Communicate clearly and professionally, both providing and seeking information, actively listening, and thoughtfully responding to peers, staff, managers, and external audiences.
