Bridge Engineer

We are seeking a highly qualified Bridge Engineer/Specialist to perform critical evaluations and inspections of transportation bridge projects. This role involves ensuring the quality and compliance of bridge design, construction, and in-service conditions with national standards.

• *Key Responsibilities:**
• Evaluate and/or develop plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) for bridge-related transportation projects.
• Conduct inspections of bridges during construction phases.
• Inspect in-service bridge conditions and ensure compliance with National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) and/or National Tunnel Inspection Standards (NTIS).
• *Required Qualifications:**
• **Education:** Meet the specified education requirement for the series (transcripts required for verification).
• **Specialized Experience:**

* **For GS-12:** At least one year of experience equivalent to GS-11, which includes: * Evaluating the quality of PS&E packages for transportation bridge projects and bridges under construction. * Inspecting in-service bridges using NBIS/NTIS. * **For GS-13:** At least one year of experience equivalent to GS-12, which includes: * Developing and evaluating the quality of PS&E for transportation bridge projects and inspecting bridges under construction. * Inspecting in-service bridge conditions and ensuring compliance with NBIS/NTIS.
