Job Description
Healthsperien seeks a Communications Intern to manage social media, develop content, and support events for health policy clients.
Healthsperien, a leader in health policy consulting focused on Medicare, Medicaid, and health insurance markets, seeks a Health Policy Communications Intern.
This dynamic role offers hands-on experience in strategic communications, content creation, and event support within a collaborative environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* **Communication Plan Execution:**
* Schedule and post social media content (Instagram, X, LinkedIn).
* Track media for specific topics and develop media/influencer lists.
* Format presentations (PowerPoint) and email blasts (MailChimp).
* Draft meeting minutes.
* Update websites (Squarespace, Wix, WordPress).
* Perform video editing.
* **Communication Product Development:**
* Create social media content (graphics, video, captions).
* Develop website content (graphics, copy).
* Design one-pagers, email communications, and media kits (graphics, copy).
* **Event Support (Virtual & In-Person):**
* Provide webinar assistance (Zoom).
* Set up and support virtual event platforms.
* Coordinate event announcements and vendor communications.
* Assist with speaker preparation.
**Required Qualifications:**
* Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student in Communications, Advertising, Marketing, Broadcasting, Electronic/Digital Media Comms, or Public Relations. (Candidates from other relevant programs may be considered with a statement of relevance).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
* Self-motivated with proven initiative, time management, and organizational skills.
* Ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task, and meet tight deadlines.
* Professional demeanor and discretion with confidential information.
* Enjoys working as part of a mission-driven team.
**Hours & Compensation:**
* Minimum 15-20 flexible hours per week.
* Hourly pay: $20 – $22/hr.
* Must be located in Washington, D.C., for in-office work.
