Federal Law Enforcement Investigator (GS-13/14)
Join a dedicated team performing critical law enforcement investigations. This role involves coordinating complex operations, advising on policy, and delivering vital findings to leadership, ensuring compliance and efficiency in national law enforcement programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and conduct large-scale surveillance operations.
- Advise on national law enforcement procedures and guidelines.
- Prepare detailed investigative reports, presenting findings and recommendations.
- Evaluate investigative activities to enhance efficiency and develop improvements.
- Deliver comprehensive report findings to senior leadership, recommending new methods.
- Manage criminal investigation operations to achieve critical objectives and timelines.
Essential Qualifications:
- One year of specialized experience comparable to the GS-12/13 level in federal or private sector law enforcement investigations.
- Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
- Ability to carry firearms and maintain proficiency in their care and use.
- Subject to Law Enforcement Availability Pay (LEAP) and unscheduled duty hours.
- Frequent travel required, including potential assignments in areas of military unrest or combat zones.
- Maximum entry age of 37 years, unless qualifying for veteran's preference or prior federal law enforcement service.
- Must not have been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence (Lautenberg Amendment).
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Requires moderate to arduous physical exertion, including walking, standing, bending, running, and carrying equipment up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to work extended hours and travel extensively worldwide.
- Excellent vision (including color) and hearing are essential, with or without correction.
- Work involves both office settings and uncontrolled environments with exposure to various hazards.
- Requires the occasional wearing of body armor and protective equipment.
- Must possess emotional and mental stability for demanding situations.
