Aviation Safety Inspector (AC - Flight Oversight), Principal Oversight Inspector

Join our team as an Aviation Safety Inspector (Flight Oversight) at the FG-14 level, ensuring air carrier safety and regulatory compliance. **Key Responsibilities:** * Interpret and apply 14 CFR Part 121 regulations for air carrier and commercial operations. * Monitor aviation organizations for adherence to Federal regulations and safety practices. * Conduct assignments requiring in-depth knowledge of air carrier aircraft flight operations. * Oversee and issue certificates for complex aviation organizations. **Required Qualifications:** * **Pilot Experience:** * Minimum 1 year as a pilot in multi-engine aircraft over 12,500 lbs. * No more than 2 pilot-error accidents in the last 5 years. * **Aviation Industry Experience:** * 3+ years with an air carrier, commercial operator, air agency, or organization certifying airmen/operating aircraft. * At least 1 year of this experience must be with an organization operating multi-engine aircraft over 12,500 lbs. * **Certifications & Hours:** * Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate. * Minimum 1,500 total flight hours. * **Specialized Experience (for FG-14):** * 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to an FG-13 Aviation Safety Inspector, specifically in interpreting regulations, monitoring compliance, and managing complex flight operations. **Medical Requirements:** * Good distant vision (corrective lenses permitted). * Ability to hear conversational voice (hearing aids permitted). * No physical conditions hindering safe performance or passenger flight. *Note: Recency of specialized experience is waived for current FAA 1825 series employees.
